Human Milk Oligosaccharides

2′-FL HMO, or 2′-fucosyllactose human milk oligosaccharide is a prebiotic found naturally in breast milk. Excluding water, HMOs are the third most abundant ingredient in breast milk after fat and carbohydrates. HMO feed good bacteria in the gut where 70% of the immune system exists.                                        

Lactoferrin

Lactoferrinis a protein naturally in the milk of humans, cows and other mammals. In humans, the highest concentrations of lactoferrin can be found in colostrum, which is a very nutrient-dense first form of breastmilk produced soon after a baby is born. Lactoferrin has antiviral and antibacterial properties, and helps the body transport and absorb iron.

Galacto-oligosaccharides (GOS)

GOS are non-digestible carbohydrates, which are almost not broken down by human digestive enzymes. Bifidobacteria and Lactobacillia are easily able to ferment GOS resulting in stimulation of the growth and/or the activity of these bacteria in the colon. These friendly gut bacteria contributes to our body’s natural immune defense.
